About Our Program

Electrical Apprenticeship Program Overview
Commercial Electrical Contracting, Inc. proudly supports the next generation of electricians through our partnership with the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) Florida West Coast Chapter.
The IEC apprenticeship program provides individuals with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the electrical industry while earning a paycheck and learning from experienced professionals in the field.
This “Earn While You Learn” approach combines paid on-the-job training with structured classroom instruction to help apprentices build long-term careers in the electrical trade.

Earn While You Learn
Unlike traditional college programs, electrical apprenticeships allow participants to begin building their careers immediately while gaining real-world experience.
Through the IEC apprenticeship program, apprentices:
- Earn wages while training
- Gain hands-on field experience
- Attend classroom instruction after work hours
- Receive progressive pay increases as skills develop
- Build a career without taking on student loan debt
This combination of education and practical experience creates a strong foundation for success in the electrical industry.
Training for Real-World Electrical Work
The apprenticeship program combines technical instruction with hands-on experience to prepare apprentices for careers in both commercial and residential electrical work.
Training areas include:
- Electrical theory and fundamentals
- National Electrical Code requirements
- Safety standards and jobsite practices
- Electrical installations and wiring methods
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Commercial and residential electrical systems
- Lighting, panels, and service work
Apprentices work alongside experienced electricians while developing the skills needed to succeed in the field.

Learn From Experienced Professionals
One of the biggest advantages of apprenticeship training is real-world field experience. Apprentices gain practical knowledge while working directly with licensed electricians on active projects and service calls.
This hands-on environment helps apprentices:
- Build confidence in the field
- Develop technical skills faster
- Learn professional jobsite practices
- Understand safety and code compliance
- Prepare for long-term career growth
